- consolation (1 Cor 14:3)
- in progression of things, after apostleship (1 Cor 12:28)
- prophecy is to those who believe (1 Cor. 14:22)
- conviction of unbeliever or an ungifted man (1 Cor. 14:24)
Focus:
- Task oriented
- Focused on setting things right, usually sin or foolish behavior within the church
Results:
- unite the faith (Eph. 4:13)
- build knowledge of the Son of God (Eph. 4:13)
- to make a mature man (Eph. 4:13)
- men of convicted of sin (1 Cor. 14:24)
- All may learn (1 Cor 14:31)
- all may be exhorted (1 Cor 14:31)
Attributes:
- exercise in proportion to faith given (Rom. 12:6)
- Speaking gift (1 Cor 14:6)
Blindsides:
- Person could become prideful.
- Tends to be pessimistic, because he is usually needed during a time of correction.
- Tends to be blunt (kind), but not nice, people are usually hurt and need “Mercy”
